Think about bringing in elements of the nearby environment.  Near the beaches, I have created marine doors with waves, fish and pelicans; river scenes with bullrushes and herons for locations around the Swan.   Another was doors, gates and panels around the entire house and within to recreate the feel and their love of the south of France, with grape vines and leaves.

The difference is the quality of artwork you are adding.  Real artwork doesn’t look cheap and it lasts.  My pieces are all primed and finished with auto-grade paints and lacquers.  If you are in a very coastal location or for exposed areas, I can also get works hot-dipped galvanised for additional protection.
